NHIS Students in grades 7 to 12 interested in being a journalist and producing the Ka Leo ‘O Nanakuli on-line newspaper, we invite you to join the after school newswriting class.

Info:
Class will be held on Tuesday (2:15 to 3:15) and Friday (1:00 to 2:00 pm)
Will require time outside of class time to conduct interviews and cover stories.
Students will be registered for newswriting course for credit.

Informational meeting on August 4, Thursday at 2:15 in room MCR. Students will receive handouts and permission forms.

If you cannot attend the informational meeting, see Mr. Kitsu in room MCR to receive forms

First day of class on Tuesday, August 9 at 2:15 pm in room MCR.

Benefits:

Students will learn how to interview, apply journalistic skills to articles and photographs, and improve writing skills.
Students will be able to inform, educate, and entertain school, community, and worldwide readers through articles and photos.
Students will earn an elective credit.
Students will learn technology, photography and video skills.
Students can produce video news segments as desired.
Students may develop this skill into a career option and college major.
Students will compete with other public and private schools in annual newspaper awards competition.
