NHIS Place Projects in State Science Fair Finals

NHIS has two projects making it to the State Science Fair finals competition.
The projects making it to the State finals are: “Are Supermassive Black Holes Bad Neighbors: An X-ray Perspective” by Christian Mancini and Dalten Morales-Pang and “Measuring Groundwater Recharge from Flooded Loʻi at Kaʻala Farm” by Monet Samifua, Shaunia Mederios, and James Daniel Hatchie (Maka) from the ʻAʻaliʻi Academy.
The two projects had to compete in the Leeward District Science Fair and the ʻAʻaliʻi Academy had two other projects that were submitted based around the work they have been doing at Kaʻala Farm.
The 61st Hawaii State Science & Engineering Fair (HSSEF) will be held at the Hawaii Convention Center March 28-30, 2018.
