Ka Leo ‘O Nānākuli After School Newswriting Class Accepting New Students
NHIS NEWSWRITING COURSE

Students in NPAC in grades 7 to 12 interested in being a journalist and producing the Ka Leo ‘O Nānākuli on-line newspaper are invited to join the NHIS Newswriting course.
Class will be held on Tuesday and Thursday (2:15 to 3:15):
- Will require time outside of class time to conduct interviews and cover stories.
- Students will be registered for Newswriting course for credit.
If you are interested in the NHIS Newswriting course, come to an informational meeting on Thursday, August 10, at 2:15 pm in room MCR.
First class on August 15, Tuesday at 2:30 in room MCR.
Benefits:
- Students will learn how to interview, apply journalistic skills to articles and photographs, and improve writing skills.
- Students will be able to inform, educate, and entertain school and community through articles and photos.
- Students will earn an elective credit.
- Students will learn technology, photography and video skills.
- Students can produce video news segments as desired.
- Students may develop this skill into a career option and college major.
- Students will compete with other public and private schools in annual newspaper awards competition.
